Isparta is in south west Turkey and has a long tradition of weaving beautiful rugs. Featured motifs are usually floral, formed by flowers and leaves, mainly roses which are symbol of Isparta due to the large rose plantations in the area. The colours commonly used in the Isparta region are navy blue, brick red, turquoise, blue, dark yellows and greens, off whites and cream. The warps and wefts on Isparta rugs are made of cotton while the knots are woollen.
